What forms of payment do you accept for appraisals?
Payment is due at the time of inspection. The preferred methods of payment include cash, cashier’s check, certified check, credit card, money order, Venmo and/or PayPal. For all checks and money orders the appraisal report will not be sent out until payment clears. Using a preferred payment method will allow us to send the appraisal report out to you as soon as the report is completed.
How will my appraisal report be delivered to me?
For the fastest delivery option, reports will be securely sent via e-mail in PDF format. Other industry formats are available upon request. If you would like a hard copy of the report we can also print it out and mail it to you for a nominal fee.
Can you do an appraisal for a home loan?
Most of the appraisals we perform are for home loans, whether a purchase, refinance or home equity line of credit. However, per the Home Valuation Code of Conduct (HVCC), an appraisal done for a home loan must be ordered through the lender, and usually through a third party. This helps to ensure that an unbiased appraisal is performed.
What's the difference between a Home Inspection and a home appraisal?
A home inspection typically involves a contractor coming to your home and doing a thorough check on the condition of your home. They look for problems and items that need repair. An appraisal is used to determine the market value of your home. The overall condition of your home is a component of the appraisal, but appraisers are not contractors.
How long will it take to get my appraisal report?
For appraisals that require an inspection, we will work with you to schedule a time for the site visit and we strive to complete all reports within three (3) business days of the inspection, but most reports can be delivered within five (5) business days of ordering your report.
What do I need to do to prepare for an appraisal?
If you've requested a complete appraisal that involves measuring the exterior of the home and an interior inspection. Ensure that the appraiser has access to the complete exterior of the house and all the interior rooms in the house. A list of any recent updates and repairs is helpful. Any pets that pose a threat should be managed and an adult (18+ years) must be present during the interior inspection, which usually lasts thirty minutes to one hour depending on the size of the home.
